Kim Sei-young and Annalin won the quarterfinals of the Match Play and advanced to the semifinals against Riona Maguire (Ireland) and world No. 1 Nelly Korda (U.S.), respectively.

Kim Sei-young and Anna Lynn advanced to the semifinals by winning the quarterfinals of the LPGA Tour's T-Mobile Match Play (total prize money of $2 million) held at Shadow Creek GC (par 72) in Las Vegas, Nevada on the 7th.

Kim Sei-young defeated Rose Zhang of the U.S. by six holes in the 13th hole, and Anna Lin defeated Minami Katsu of Japan by one hole (1 hole) in the 18th hole.

Kim Sei-young, who is aiming for her first championship since the Pelican Women's Championship (November), unilaterally overpowered Rose Jang, a former amateur powerhouse who won her LPGA debut last year. She maintained par at holes 1 to 3, winning three consecutive holes against her opponent, who was shaken hard from the beginning, and also winning consecutive holes 5 to 6. Kim Sei-young, who lost the seventh hole (par 5), but led the first half by four holes, won the 10th to 13th holes, finishing the game with 6&5 (winning by six holes with five holes left).

"I finished with a chip-in birdie at the last hole. It was very cold because I started early in the morning, and the green was solid, so I was able to win the title just by getting par at every hole," Kim said. "So I won the title by banking on my strategy to protect par." Kim, who secured a two-and-a-half-hour break from 5:40 a.m. (Korea time) to the semifinal, secured a break of about 5:40 a.m. on the 13th hole, said, "I'm looking forward to the semifinal match against Maguire. I'm not sure what will happen, but I'll do my best." Maguire defeated Moriya Jutanugarn of Thailand 4&3 in the quarterfinal match.

Anna Lynn, who is trying to win her first championship in three seasons, took the final hole after a fierce battle with world No. 90 Minami Katsu. Anna Lynn, who won the third hole first, returned after losing after losing holes 4 and 5, and lost holes 6 and 7, tying for the lead in the first half. Leading by two holes in 12 and 13, Annalin lost holes 14 and 16 to take the lead again with a birdie on the 17th hole, and tied for the lead in the 18th hole. Both of them had double bogeys in the final hole.

"At some holes, I played sluggishly like I was a completely different player. I watched a lot, but I tried to do my best," Annalin said. "I'll have lunch first and focus more on the semi-finals," he said, preparing for a tight semi-final schedule.
