Asian Cup opens on the 13th Host nation Qatar starts off with a clean sweep

Qatar, the host country of the 2023 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup, won a resounding victory in the opening match, announcing its start as a 'defending champion'.

Qatar won 3-0 against Lebanon in the first match of Group A, the opening game of the tournament, held at Lusail Stadium in Lusail, Qatar on the 13th (Korean time).

As the winner and host country of the previous 2019 competition, it made a fresh start.

Veteran striker Akram Afif led the team to victory by scoring multiple goals.

Afif scored his 10th goal in the Asian Cup and tied for second place in the tournament's total goals, along with Lee Dong-guk. The player with the most goals is Ali Daei (Iran) with 14 goals.

Qatar put strong pressure on Lebanon, which was considered weak from the beginning.

The first goal was scored at the end of the first half. In the 45th minute of the first half, Afif rushed from the penalty box and connected Almoez Ali's pass with his right foot, hitting Lebanon's net.

This is the first official goal of this tournament. Qatar ended the first half with a 1-0 lead.

In the 11th minute of the second half, Ali scored an additional goal with a header to secure the win. Alli showed off his good condition by assisting the first goal and then scoring a runaway goal. Ali continued his momentum as the tournament's Most Valuable Player (MVP) and top scorer in 2019.

Qatar, ahead 2-0, celebrated victory with Afif's third goal in extra time in the second half.

On this day, 82,490 people visited the opening match. It was a game in which Qatar showed strength thanks to the enthusiastic support of their home fans.

Meanwhile, Korea, led by coach Jürgen Klinsmann (Germany), will play its first group match against Bahrain on the 15th. Korea is aiming for its first win in 64 years. 카지노사이트존
