We are pleased to announce the successful conclusion of the first half of the 2023 LCK Academy Series tryouts, which took place at LoL Park on Saturday, June 15 and Sunday, June 16.

The LCK Academy Series Tryout is an event for amateur players who want to make their professional debut in League of Legends to showcase their skills and test their potential directly to LCK teams, and has been held twice a year since last year, once in the first half and once in the second half.

This year's tryouts were attended by 50 players who passed the selection criteria out of 138 applicants, with players ranging in age from 2007 to 2001.

The tryout program consisted of an introductory training session, a tour of the LoL Park, group scrimmages, and individual interviews. During the training session, Coach Choi Byung-guk of Genji Global Academy, Coach Kim Sun-woong of DPLUS Kia Challengers, and Coach Park Yong-seop of Nongshim Esports Academy gave lectures on topics such as the virtues of a professional esports player and how to approach a tryout, and the three coaches also gave general advice to the players in addition to the topics they had prepared in advance.

On-site, more than 20 representatives from all 10 LCK teams watched the participants scrimmage, providing on-the-spot feedback and seeing how quickly the players' play changed. Teams also had the opportunity to conduct individual interviews with players they were interested in from the scrimmages to learn more about their passion and personality. A total of 30 participants met with LCK teams on both days.

One of the participants said, "It was great to be able to show my skills to the team officials through this LCK tryout." One of the team officials also commented, "We had a few potential players show up for personal interviews. I think the LCK tryouts are a great opportunity for both teams and players."

Certificates and souvenirs were distributed to those who participated in the tryout, and those who join the LCK Team Academy through the tryout will have the opportunity to compete in the LCK Academy Series League.

The LCK Academy Series League, which will feature academies affiliated with LCK teams, will be held from Monday, April 17 to Sunday, April 23. The competition will be held in a full league format from the end of April, and the playoffs will be held on June 3 (Sat) and 4 (Sun) at the Daejeon Esports Stadium (Daejeon Meteor).

Meanwhile, the LCK Academy Series League is an LCK-affiliated competition in which aspiring LoL players and academy teams affiliated with LCK teams compete to showcase their skills in preparation for their professional debut, and is organized by the LCK corporation, hosted by the Korea Esports Association, 스포츠토토 broadcast by Nice Game TV, and sponsored by Woori Bank.
