Reese James became the captain of the big club Chelsea FC.

"James has become the new captain of our club. James, a Chelsea fan who joined our academy at the age of 6, has become our representative player."

Shortly after being elected captain, James said: "I am very happy to have taken on this role and responsibility. I feel responsible but also excited because there have been some great captains here in the past."

"I've spent almost my whole life at Chelsea. I started here when I was six years old and going through the academy (getting into the first team) was tough. But being captain now makes me and my family feel good." explained.

"This is a decision made by me and the club. We are very happy that James has captained the team this season. James sets an example for the team and his attitude and commitment to Chelsea was evident throughout pre-season. He proudly wore the armband on the summer tour and will now take on the challenge of leading our team with his own approach and ideas.”
