Hyo Joo Kim (28, Rodeo) won the Ascendant LPGA ($1.8 million purse) on the U.S. Women's Professional Golf (LPGA) Tour by a wire-to-wire margin to improve her career win total to six.

Kim carded four birdies and two bogeys for a 2-under 69 in the final four rounds of the tournament on Monday (Sept. 9) at the par-71 Old American Golf Club in The Colony, Texas, USA.

With a final total of 13-under par 271, Kim won the tournament ahead of Ataya Thittikun (Thailand) and Bianca Pagdanganan (Philippines), who tied for second at 9-under par 275.

It was Kim's sixth victory in a year and six months since the Lotte Championship in April of last year, and she finally tasted victory after two runner-up finishes this year.

Kim's victory marks the second consecutive week that a Korean player has won the title, following Hae-ran Hae (22? Daol Financial Group) at the Arkansas Championship last week. It also gives South Korean players four wins this season, including two from Jin Young Ko.

Kim earned $270,000 (approximately $364,000) for her victory.

Hyo Joo Kim is the favorite to win the Bear Trophy as she has consistently held the top stroke average this season.

After sitting atop the leaderboard for the first three rounds of the tournament, Kim was unable to reduce her score until the 11th hole, when she carded two birdies and two bogeys. However, birdies on the 14th (par-4) and 17th (par-5) sealed the victory. 스포츠토토링크
