For the first time in its history at the Asian Games, South Korea's men's and women's volleyball teams have decided to change coaches.

"We have decided not to renew the contract of Lim Do-heon, the head coach of the men's national team, whose tenure ended at the Hangzhou Asian Games," the Korean Volleyball Association announced on Monday.

"We have also mutually agreed to terminate the contract of Cesar Hernandez Gonzalez, the head coach of the women's national team," the organization added.

"The men's and women's performance commissioners have also tendered their resignations after taking the blame for the poor performance," the federation said.

Choi Cheon-sik, the head coach of Inha University, is currently in charge of the men's program, while Kim Chul-yong, the head coach of Chungang Women's Middle and High School, is in charge of the women's program.

"We will establish and implement a mid- to long-term development plan to help Korean volleyball go through growing pains and be reborn through a bone-crushing reform," the association said.

The association plans to hold a public hearing next month that will include media, experts, fans, and others. 스포츠토토맨
