Defending champion Lotte Golf Team took a big step toward its second consecutive victory, taking a seven-shot lead in the second round of the Aqua Garden-Ocean Cup Golf Club competition.
Lee So-young and Hwang Yoo-min's Lotte golf team made five birdies in the second round of the tournament at Ocean Country Club in Yeosu, Jeollanam-do, on the 23rd, with the two players taking turns hitting one ball.
Lee So-young and Hwang Yoo-min, who recorded an interim total of 12 under par, are on the verge of winning the title for the second consecutive year, beating NH Investment & Securities, which is led by Lee Ga-young and Kim Hye-seung, by a whopping seven strokes.
NH Investment & Securities, led by Park Min-ji, Jung Yoon-ji, Lee Ga-young, and Kim Hye-seung, ranked second with a total of 5 under par, and Pacific Lynx Korea, led by Kim Ji-hyun and Hwang Ye-na, ranked third with 4 under par.
Korea Land Trust, which featured Park Hyun-kyung and Cho Ah-yeon (24), dropped six shots in the second round and jumped to a joint fourth place with a total of two under par.
Meanwhile, the tournament, which was created in 2022 and marks its third year this year, is the only women's golf club competition in the country, and it is an event-style event just before the opening of the KLPGA Tour in Korea. A total of 12 teams will participate, and the final winner will be determined based on the lowest combined score of the third round without a separate cut. The final three rounds will be played in scramble format.
