Six innings of no-hit ball, five days after defeat Ended a three-game losing streak against Taiwan in international competition

South Korean baseball team starting pitcher Moon Dong-ju roars after holding the Chinese Taipei bats scoreless for six innings in the final game of the Asian Games in Hangzhou on Sunday. South Korea beat Chinese Taipei 2-0 on Sunday to win its fourth consecutive Asian Games baseball title.

There was no second loss. South Korea's baseball team defeated Chinese Taipei to win its fourth consecutive Asian Games gold medal. South Korea defeated Chinese Taipei 2-0 in the baseball final at the Hangzhou Asian Games on Sunday at the Shaoxing Baseball and Softball Sports Center in Zhejiang, China.

The Chinese Taipei team, which included eight members of the Taiwanese Professional Baseball Organization, seven members of the Major League Baseball Minor League and seven unemployed baseball players, handed South Korea its only loss of the tournament. South Korean head coach Ryu Joong-il sent Moon Dong-ju, 20, back to the mound against the Chinese Taipei team, which returned to action five days after an 0-4 group stage loss.

After taking the loss in the group stage with four innings of two-run ball, Moon pitched six innings of three-hit ball, striking out seven and walking none in the final. "I was disappointed that the first game (against Chinese Taipei) didn't go the way I thought it would, but I'm glad I was able to help the team in the final," Moon said.

The Korean bats were also happy to see the return of Taiwanese starter Lin Yumin, 20. Korea was held scoreless in six innings against Lin, who pitched for Arizona's Double-A team in the group stage. However, they broke through in the top of the second inning when Kim Ju-won (21) led off the inning with a sacrifice fly to left field and then scored on Lin's wild pitch with runners on second and third.

The win snapped a three-game losing streak against Chinese Taipei. Prior to this meeting, Korea had lost 1-2 to Chinese Taipei, which featured 17 unemployed baseball players, in a group stage matchup at the 2018 Jakarta-Palembang Asian Games, and 0-7 in a 2019 WBSC Premier 12 Super Round matchup between the 'A' teams. 스포츠토토링크
