Unable to play since the Australian Open in January this year due to injury

Rafael Nadal (Spain) will participate in the Brisbane International of the Men's Professional Tennis (ATP) Tour, which opens on the 31st of this month.

Nadal said on his social network service (SNS) account on the 2nd (Korean time), “I have not been able to compete in competitions for almost a year, but it is time to return. Let’s meet at the Brisbane International, the first competition of the new year.”

His last official tournament appearance was the Australian Open, a major tournament, in January this year. Nadal, who was eliminated in the second round at the time, was unable to participate in the match due to back and hip injuries.

Because of the long hiatus, the world ranking fell to 663rd.

He is likely to retire after the 2024 season. He announced in May of this year that he would not participate in the French Open, the second major tournament of the season, and said, “Next year will be the last season.”

Nadal ranks second with the most singles wins in major championships. He follows Novak Djokovic (Serbia), who has won 22 times and has 24 wins.

In particular, he lifted the trophy 14 times at the French Open alone.

Nadal, who returns to the court after a year, will participate in the Brisbane International held in Brisbane, Australia, and then participate in the Australian Open, which will begin on January 14th next year 토토사이트
