SSG, in the midst of a three-way battle for third place in the Korean Baseball Organization, pulled off a five-run comeback win over NC, led by two home runs from Oh Tae-gon (pictured). SSG scored six runs in the eighth inning to come from behind and win 10-8 against visiting NC at Changwon NC Park on Monday.

Meanwhile, NC, who were third the day before, dropped to fifth place in one day.

SSG's victory was led by Oh Tae-gon, who batted first on the day. With a 2-1 lead, Oh hit a solo home run in the top of the fifth inning against opposing starter Song Myung-ki. However, SSG fell behind 3-8 by the end of the seventh inning after giving up back-to-back home runs to NC's Park Se-hyuk.

SSG's comeback came in the top of the eighth. With runners on first and second, SSG scored two runs on a double by pinch-hitter Ha Jae-hoon, followed by a single by pinch-hitter Kim Kang-min to cut the deficit to 6-8. With runners on first and third, Oh completed the "Promised Eighth" with a walk-off three-run home run over the left field fence off NC reliever Lee Yong-chan, who had been relieved early. Choi then drove in the winning run in the top of the ninth with a solo home run. With his 29th home run of the season, Choi moved to within two of the home run leader Noh Si-hwan (31). SSG brought in Seo Jin-yong in the bottom of the ninth inning with a 10-8 lead to secure the win. With his one-hit shutout inning, saves leader Seo earned his 40th save of the season (4-4).
