Hwang Sun-woo's Men's Medley Relay 800m Finishes '6th' in Final Race[править]

The Korean swimming "golden generation" of Hwang Sun-woo (20), Kim Woo-min (22), Yang Jae-hoon (25-over Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province) and Lee Ho-joon (22-Daegu Metropolitan City) broke another Korean record in the final of the World Aquatics Championships.

South Korea finished sixth in the men's 800-meter freestyle relay final at the Fukuoka 2023 World Aquatics Championships at Marine Messe Fukuoka Hall in Fukuoka, Japan, on Monday, setting a new national record of 7:04.07. This is their best finish since finishing sixth in Budapest last year.

The 800-meter freestyle relay is an event in which four swimmers swim 200 meters of freestyle. Hwang Sun-woo was the first swimmer on the day and was in third place through the 100 meters in 51.35 seconds, dropping to sixth place between 100 and 150 meters before moving up to fifth place at the end, clocking 1:46.35.

Kim Woo-min then ran the 200 meters in 1:44.84 to stay in fifth place. The third youngster, Yang Jae-hoon, dropped to seventh place in the 200 meters with a time of 1:48.35. Lee 스포츠토토 completed the 200 meters in 1:44.53. He moved up to fifth place at the 150-meter mark, but faded in the final sprint to finish sixth.

Although South Korea was denied its first-ever team medal at the World Aquatics Championships, the country continued to break records in the preliminaries and finals. Earlier in the day in the preliminaries, the Koreans set a time of 7:06.82, and then nearly nine hours later in the final, they improved by a whopping 2.75 seconds, making it two Korean records in one day.

Great Britain won gold in 6:59.08, with the United States taking silver in 7:00.02 and Australia taking bronze in 7:02.13.

For South Korea, reaching the final is a big deal. For the first time in the history of Korean swimming, they have reached two consecutive World Aquatics Championships team finals in management events.

They are also the only Asian nation to qualify for the 800-meter freestyle relay final. In the preliminaries, Japan finished ninth and China 11th.

The outlook for the Hangzhou Asian Games in September is also bright. South Korea has yet to win a team gold medal in a business event at the Asian Games. The country's best team results at the Asian Games are a silver medal in the 800-meter freestyle relay at Hiroshima 1994 and a silver in the 400-meter medley relay at Guangzhou 2010. South Korea will be looking to win its first ever team gold medal in a business event at the Asian Games.

Cho Sung-wook, who saw the goal closest, "I was sure it was offside"[править]

Cho Sung-wook was convinced that Bucheon FC's goal was offside.

Seongnam FC drew 2-2 with Bucheon FC in the 27th round of the Hana OneQ K League 2 2023 at Tancheon Sports Complex at 7 p.m. on July 21. With a point, Seongnam briefly moved up to ninth place in the league.

It was a tense game until the end. Seongnam went into halftime with the lead thanks to a first-half goal from Chris, but conceded an equalizer to Ahn Jae-jun, who came on as a substitute at the start of the second half. In need of a goal, it was Cho Sung-wook who stepped up to the plate. In the 26th minute of the second half, he headed home a ball from Park Tae-joon on a corner kick to give his team the lead again. He was the only one who jumped high in the crowd. Despite Cho Sung-wook's fourth goal of the league, Seongnam conceded a late equalizer through Lee Yi-hyung in stoppage time and the match ended in a draw.

We caught up with Cho in the mix zone after the game, and he wasn't happy after conceding the equalizer in late stoppage time. "We had a goal, and for that goal, we had to win the game today. We tried to win, but I'm personally disappointed with the last goal. I think it's a bit disappointing that it ended in a draw," he said.

"I think the team did a good job of building up from the back and taking the pressure off the opponent," he continued, "but I think the defense could have been a little more focused at the end of the game. I think we need to work on that," he reflected.

He also talked about his goal. After scoring a header in the opening match at home against the Ansan Greeners, Cho Sung-wook has now scored four goals this season, including against Bucheon. That's the fourth most in Seongnam, behind Chris, Gabriel, and Lee Jong-ho.

"I feel lucky," said Cho Sung-wook. My teammates put up good kicks, so I was able to score well. In training, I rarely score, but in matches, I do. I think it's better," he said with a slight smile.

I also asked him about the goals that were disallowed by VAR. Bucheon's Lupeta rattled the Seongnam net twice on the day, but both goals were overturned after VAR. Seongnam could breathe a sigh of relief.

"I was convinced that Lupeta's goal 토토사이트 was offside, so I said so, but the referees all said it wasn't offside, so I was a little uneasy when they said that. But fortunately, it was canceled, so I felt good."

Seongnam will now face Gyeongnam FC and Gimpo FC for the rest of August. "Actually, whenever we played Gyeongnam or Gimpo, I didn't think that we would play a game where we would never lose," said Cho Sung-wook. We will play to win this time as well. However, as I said earlier, we will talk to the players about our defensive focus and make it better," he said, revealing how they will prepare for the two matches.

Korea Athletics seeks medal in men's 400m relay on Day 3[править]

After failing to add a medal on day three, South Korean athletics will try for a medal in the 400-meter relay on day three.

After "high school student" Kim Tae-hee (18-Iri Gonggo) won gold in the women's hammer throw on the first day of athletics at the Hangzhou Asian Games (Sept. 29), South Korean athletics failed to add a medal on day two.

Ko Seung-hwan (25-Gwangju Metropolitan Government) finished seventh in the men's 200-meter final in 21.06 later in the day at the Hangzhou Olympic Sports Center Main Stadium in Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province, China. His final time was slower than his time in the semifinals (20.87).

In the men's 110m hurdles final, Kim Kyung-tae (26, Ansan City Hall) ran a personal best of 13.73 (previous 13.84) but finished seventh.

In the women's pole vault final, Shin Sooyoung (25-Kangwon Doosan Athletic Association) finished eighth with a height of 3.60 meters.

Lee Hee-jin (24-Cheongyang County) finished ninth out of 15 in the women's long jump final with a leap of 6m06, while Kim Il-hyun (29-Gyeongju City) finished 10th out of 11 in the men's discus with a throw of 48m62.

There are medal chances on Day 3. The 토토사이트 Korean relay team will try to break the national record (38.74) and win a medal for the first time in 37 years in the 400-meter relay final on Wednesday afternoon. Earlier in the day, the Korean relay team of Lee Jung-tae (27-Anyang City Hall), Kim Kook-young (32-Gwangju Metropolitan Government), Lee Jae-sung (22-Korea Gymnastics University) and Park Won-jin (20-Sokcho City Hall) finished second overall in the men's 400-meter relay preliminaries with a time of 38.75 seconds.

"No worries about faith"...the unstoppable center fielder, 'Steel Magic' goes the distance[править]

"No worries about faith."

The KT Wiz will take on the LG Twins in Game 1 of the Korean Series of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League postseason on April 7 at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul.

The Wizards have had a magical season this year. Injuries to key players at the start of the season left them with a huge hole, and they fell to last place in early June with a -14 win-loss margin. But they didn't give up. Injured players returned after recovering, and William Cuevas' return after a year as Bo Schuler's replacement was a huge boost to the starting lineup.

KT won 42 games, drew one and lost 21 in the second half. Based on their second-half performance alone, they ranked first with a winning percentage of 0.667. In second place is LG with 37 wins, 26 losses, and a winning percentage of 0.587. In the end, the team climbed from 10th place and punched their ticket to the playoffs with a +17 win-loss margin and second place in the regular season.

The playoffs were just as magical. We dropped games one and two at home against the NC Dinos. But in Game 3, they fought back. The starting lineup started to settle down and the hitters started to hit, rattling off three straight wins to complete the third playoff "reverse sweep" in history and reach the Korean Series stage.

After falling to the bottom of the standings, KT finished the season in second place and will now look to return to the top for the first time in two years. The team is ready to hoist the trophy in the inaugural Korean Series at KT Wiz Park.

KT manager Lee Kang-cheol attended the Korean Series media day at Jamsil Stadium on June 6 and said, "I think we've come up through the season well. I'm glad we came up well so we won't be disappointed. This is the first Korean Series to be held in Suwon. We will do our best to prepare with the players, front office, and fans to reach the top spot."

KT's cleanup trio is Anthony Alford, Byung-ho Park, and Jang Sung-woo. In the playoffs, Alford had two hits (one home run), five walks, one RBI, two runs scored, a .143 OPS and a .725 slugging percentage, Park Byung-ho had four hits, one RBI, one run scored, seven strikeouts, a .200 OPS and a .450 slugging percentage, and Jang Sung-woo had six hits (one home run), two RBI, three runs scored, two strikeouts, a .333 OPS and a .872 slugging percentage.

Alford and Byung-ho Park are not hitting well enough. Jang Sung-woo's batting came alive in the fourth and fifth games. Lee Kang-cheol showed his faith in his players. "I don't think the center field is bad against LG pitchers," he said, "The game sense has improved a lot, and I think we have an advantage in that area. The opposing pitchers will be different and the players will have ideas on how to deal with them. There are no worries about faith."

This season, KT rebounded with their starting pitching. This postseason, it will continue. Starting with Ko Young-pyo in Game 1, William Cuevas, Wes Benjamin, and others will start. "We're going 먹튀검증 to use our starting pitchers as much as possible," said Lee. I think the starting role will be important for our team this season and in the postseason," Lee said.

Lee's main concern was the LG bullpen. "The LG starting lineup may look weak, but there are seven or eight bullpen pitchers. I think that's the trickiest part," he said. "They have a lot of hitters with good contact, so we had a tough time (in the regular season)."

'South Korean soccer legend' Park Ji-Sung returns to Doha[править]

There was a familiar face at the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Asian Cup Round of 16 match between Japan and Bahrain.

Park Ji-sung, 42, technical director of Jeonbuk Hyundai, traveled to the Altumama Stadium in Al Wakrah, Qatar, on Jan. 31 (KST) to watch Japan-Bahrain in the round of 16.

On the day, Japan defeated Bahrain 3-1 to advance to the quarterfinals.

Japan took the lead in the 31st minute through Doan Ritz (Mönchengladbach). Maikuma's shot hit the post and was intercepted by Doan Ritsu, who slotted it home.

Japan's second goal came at the start of the second half. Takefusa Kubo (Real Sociedad) took advantage of the chaos in the box to split the Bahraini goal with a neat finish.

Bahrain kept the chase alive in the 18th minute of the second half. Ayase Ueda (Feyenoord) conceded an own goal after colliding with goalkeeper Zaion Suzuki (Sint-Truiden) on a corner kick.

However, Ueda quickly made up for his mistake. On the counterattack, she received a pass from Maikuma, rushed forward, and finished with an exquisite shot.

With the 3-1 win, Japan will face the winner of the Iran-Syria match in the quarterfinals.

South Korean soccer legend Park Ji-sung was in attendance. Park wore the captain's armband to the 2009 World Cup in Qatar.

At the time, South Korea lost to Japan in a penalty shootout in the quarterfinals. Koo Ja-cheol (Jeju), Lee Yong-rae (Daegu) and Hong Jeong-ho (Jeonbuk) conceded in quick succession, resulting in a 0-3 defeat.

It was Park Ji-sung's 100th and final A-match match. Park announced his retirement from the national team after this game.

Current captain Son Heung-min (Tottenham) spoke about the World Cup quarterfinals and Park Ji-sung 13 years ago in an interview before his recovery training in Al Egla, Qatar.

"(Park) Ji-sung is so close to my brother that we can talk about this in a joking way," Son said of Park's absence as a kicker at the time, drawing laughter when he said, "Ji-sung resents my brother."

"I didn't want to regret it like 13 years ago, so I tried to choose 스포츠토토 between 1 and 5," he said. Indeed, Son Heung-min was the first kicker to score in the penalty shootout that followed South Korea's 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia in the Round of 16 the previous day.

Kim Young-kwon (Ulsan HD), Cho Kyu-sung (Mitwillan), and Hwang Hee-chan (Wolverhampton) all scored for South Korea afterward. Cho Hyun-woo (Ulsan HD) saved shots from Saudi Arabia's third and fourth kickers to secure the 4-2 win and advance to the quarterfinals.

The quarterfinalists will face Australia next month at 0:30 a.m. on March 3.

Kim Hye-sung→Dawson→Lee Joo-hyung→Lee Jeong-hoo without heroes 1~3 fixed batting order[править]

Kim Hye-sung, Dawson, and Lee Joo-hyung.

The Kiwoom Heroes have been practicing for their spring camp near Kaohsiung, Taiwan. After losing the first two games to the Zhongxin Brothers, they won two in a row, and then won three in a row against the Tung Yi Lions on Feb. 2 (KST). The pitchers gave up a lot of runs in the first two games, but they stabilized during the three-game winning streak.

The biggest issue for Kiwoom this season is the batting order, with Ariel Hurtado, Enmanuel De Jesus, and the indigenous 3-5 starters missing Lee Jung-hoo. There are more options in the batting order than on the mound. The 3-5 starters are locked in for a month or more. However, if the batting order doesn't work out today, you can change it tomorrow. Once you know the best use of your hitters, it's important to plan your bench.

At the end of the day, teams with a fixed batting order are considered stronger because there is a belief that it is the strongest batting order on the team. And it's proven by history and data. Kiwoom's batting order has been declining for years. Last year, they were one of the teams that shuffled their batting order the most in the league, with only Lee Jung-hoo (26, San Francisco Giants) and Kim Hye-sung (26, San Francisco Giants) as the only steady starters.

But this year, even Lee Jung-hoo is gone. Naturally, Kiwoom will be one of the teams in the league that shuffles their batting order the most this year. If you accept that your team isn't powerful enough to have a fixed batting order anyway, it's better to utilize it efficiently based on day-to-day conditions and data. You don't want to have a fixed batting order just because you're Hong Won-ki.

So it's interesting to see the batting order of 1-3 in the five Taiwan practice games. With the exception of the final scrimmage against Zhongxin on February 29, the lineup was Kim Hesung (second base), Ronnie Dawson (left field), and 토토사이트 Lee Joo-hyung (center field). On Feb. 29, Lee took a full day off. The batting order was Kim Hye-sung (second baseman), Dawson (left fielder), and Joo Sung-won (first baseman).

This means that Kim Hye-sung, Dawson, and Lee Joo-hyung will bat 1-3 if they are healthy. Of course, there are still practice games left. We haven't even started the exhibition games yet, but it seems likely that Hong Won-ki will stick with this batting order for the exhibition games and the regular season.

They are currently the best hitters in the Kium batting order. It doesn't make sense to leave out Kim Hye-sung, the "reserve big leaguer," and Lee Joo-hyung, who the club considers the "next Lee Jung-hoo" and is fully supporting. They seem to believe that they will be 'constants' and that's how the Kiwoom batting lineup can function to its fullest potential.

It's no secret that Kim Hye-sung, who can hit third and is quick on her feet, is the perfect leadoff hitter. Dawson proved her ability to make contact last year, hitting .336 in 57 games. The club believes she is capable of 20 home runs once she adjusts to the KBO. In many ways, he's a perfect fit for the No. 2 spot.

And with Lee Joo-hyung at third base, we'll see if he can be the next Lee Jung-hoo. He's got quick feet, accurate hitting, and a fixer-upper mentality. There's plenty of potential for him to fulfill his potential as a No. 3 hitter. Kiermaar needs to maximize the production of his 1-3 hitters somehow. Even if it means giving up some production from the bottom of the order, it's a great option to have a good hitter in the top three of the batting order. If they can do this for 144 games without getting injured, we'll see where they end up.

'Combined 4 consecutive titles + MVP' Jung So-Seok[править]

National outside hitter Jung Ji-seok (29), who was plagued by injuries throughout the 2023-24 season, was a key contributor to the team's fourth consecutive title. "I can say it now, but this season was very difficult for me, but I'm very happy to win the title at the end," said Jung, who was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the championship.

Korean Air won the best-of-five best-of-three championship match against OK Financial Group 3-2 (27-25 16-25 21-25 25-20 15-13) in the third set of the Dodram V League Men's Championship Finals of the 2023-24 season at the Ansan Sangroksu Gymnasium on Sunday.

After two straight wins in Anbangseo, Korean Air won its third straight title, its fifth overall and first four in a row. Korean Air won its first title in the 2017-18 season, and from 2020-21 onward, it has won both the regular season title and the championship in four consecutive seasons.

Samsung Fire had previously won three consecutive titles starting in 2011-12, but this is the first time they have won four in a row.

Korean Air was led by 18 points (64% shooting) from off the bench by apogee spiker Lim Dong-hyuk, while Jung Ji-seok added 18 points.

After his tremendous performance in the championship game, Jung received 22 votes in the journalists' poll to win the MVP award, ahead of Lim Dong-hyuk (4 votes), Maxim (3 votes), Kwak Seung-seok and Han (1 vote).

After exploding for 31 points in Game 1 of the championship, he followed 먹튀검증 that up with 10 in Game 2 and 18 on the night to seal the win.

"I had a bad start, but I stayed mentally strong," said Jung, adding, "The lucky goddess was on our side. It feels so good to be able to win at the end."

"It was 50/50 back then, but I felt like I stole the award from Yosvani Hernandez," he said. "This time, the stage was set for (Im) Dong-hyuk, but I feel like he stole it. I'm more happy to be the second MVP."

After giving birth to a baby girl in early January, Jeong rallied around the responsibilities of fatherhood and became a star in front of his family. "(My daughter) was a victory fairy," he smiled, "she won the first and second games, so I'm very happy to be here today."

It's been a tough season for him, as he competed at the Hangzhou Asian Games, where he suffered a back injury and missed the second round. He returned in the third round, but it took him a long time to find his form. Even his coach Tommy Tilikainen praised him, saying, "It's been difficult for him with injuries, but when it really matters, he's done well."

"I got off to a slow start due to injury, so I didn't know how the season was going to go, and my confidence was really low," he said. "I even felt sorry for myself, and I thought, 'Is this season over,' but I didn't let it show. I can tell you now. It was so hard," he said.

"I worked really hard on my serve (before the championships)," he said, explaining that he focused on finding his groove.

Having achieved it all, Chung is now eyeing a fifth consecutive title.

"It might sound cocky, but I've won all the prizes I can get," he said, adding, "Every time, (Han) whips me for not being that good. Next season, I will play for a fifth consecutive title," he said.

In the end, the extreme medicine was prescribed → 'SON exclusion' was tweaked[править]

Tottenham manager Angie Postecoglou has finally played 'the card' after back-to-back defeats.

As reported by British media outlet Football London on Wednesday, Postecoglou admitted that captain Son Heung-min needs to be rested. He could be left out of the starting lineup for the rest of the season.

Spurs have lost three straight games and are in the midst of a tough schedule.

Spurs lost 0-2 to Chelsea on Sunday at Stamford Bridge in the 35th round of the 2023-2024 Premier League season. It was their third straight loss, following a 0-4 defeat at Newcastle and a 2-3 defeat at Arsenal.

Tottenham return to Anfield after just two days off. On May 5, they'll play another game at 12:30 p.m. against nemesis Liverpool. It's a time when the players are at full strength mentally and physically.

'I think Sonny's fitness has dropped a lot because he's played so many games. Are you tempted to give him a break in the next week or so?'

Postecoglou was asked the same question.

He replied: “Yes. Heung-min has been challenged in many ways this year. Not only in terms of his game, but also in terms of his leadership. But it's a challenge he has to accept at some point. He can't avoid it. It's a 먹튀검증 challenge that won't go away.”

He wants to give Son a break, even though he knows he has to deal with it himself.

In addition to the Liverpool game in two days, Spurs have to play Burnley on Nov. 11 and Manchester City on Nov. 15.

However, it is highly unlikely that Son Heung-min will be rested at all.

Tottenham may be out of fourth place, but they still need to hold on to fifth. They are six points behind sixth-place Manchester United. Also, Liverpool and Man City are still in the title race. Burnley are fighting to stay out of the relegation zone. There's no need for Tottenham to rotate unnecessarily.

Spurs have also suffered three consecutive defeats, putting a question mark over Postecoglou's leadership.

According to The Athletic, Postecoglou said of the recent slump, “There are many reasons. It's hard to define it in one word. But it's the nature of change. It's not surprising. Change is difficult, unkind, uncompromising and challenging. There is no room for comfort. My role is to navigate the process.”

Postecoglou hopes that the players will soon forget about the losses and focus on the next game. “This is part of the process. It doesn't stop next year. If you really want to be successful, you have to go through tough times,” he emphasized.
