Australia's Alex Hall celebrates with teammates after hitting a solo shot with no outs in the sixth inning during the Asia-Pacific Baseball Championship (APBC) 2023 match between South Korea and Australia at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, on Nov. 16.

South Korea's baseball team, competing in the Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC), defeated Australia in extra innings. Despite the victory, the game was frustrating. In particular, the batting lineup was silent and the team was unable to take advantage of the Tokyo Dome's long-hitting pitching.

Korea's baseball team, led by Ryu Jung-il, won 3-2 in extra innings against APBC Australia at the Tokyo Dome in Japan on Saturday, thanks to a walk-off hit by Noh Shi-hwan (Hanwha).

With the win over Australia, Korea's chances of qualifying for the finals are now in the balance. Korea will face Japan on Sunday and Chinese Taipei on Monday.

Despite the valuable victory, the team was unable to shake off the Tokyo Dome nightmare from the World Baseball Classic (WBC).

South Korea's starting pitcher Moon Dong-ju walks off the mound with runners on second and first in the sixth inning of the Asia-Pacific Baseball Championship (APBC) 2023 match between South Korea and Australia at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, on Nov. 16.

South Korea was swept by Australia at the WBC earlier this year after being hit by three home runs. Unable to overcome the aftermath of the shocking loss, Korea suffered a humiliating first-round exit.

Building on their WBC experience, Korea needed to contain the long ball in the APBC against a hard-hitting Australian lineup, but once again, they gave up home runs.

Starting pitcher Moon Dong-joo (Hanwha), who had held the Aussies to one run through five innings, gave up a solo home run to leadoff hitter Alex Hall in the sixth. A three-pitch fastball on a 1-ball-1 strike was driven to center field for a 110-meter home run.

A shaky Moon Dong-ju gave up a walk to Jesse Williams two batters later and was replaced on the mound by Kim Young-gyu.

Korea was down 1-2 going into the top of the eighth, but Kim Joo-won's lucky RBI single in the bottom of the eighth and Noh Si-hwan's game-winning hit in the bottom of the 10th in extra innings gave Korea a hard-fought victory.

While Australia showed off their long ball prowess with their home run arsenal, the Korean bats did not take advantage of the Tokyo Dome. They had eight hits, but no home runs. They only had two doubles.

South Korea's Noh Si-hwan hits an RBI single with runners on first and second in the 10th inning during the Asia-Pacific Baseball Championship (APBC) 2023 match between South Korea and Australia at the Tokyo Dome in Tokyo, Japan, on Nov. 16.

The Tokyo Dome is one of the most hitter-friendly stadiums in Japan. It's an air-floated ballpark, which means that the air currents inside the stadium cause balls to travel farther than they would otherwise. While this is a disadvantage for pitchers, it is an optimal environment for hitters to hit long balls.

On this day, however, the Korean bats struggled to capitalize on the Australian pitchers' pitches. They struck out seven times.

Since the WBC, Korea hasn't been able to take advantage of the Tokyo Dome. On the other hand, they've given up a lot of home runs to their opponents.

While it's important for the mound to limit home runs, baseball is a game of scoring runs. It's time for the bats to come through with some home runs. 카지노사이트
