It was a performance worthy of the number one candidate.

Sookmyung Girls' High School defeated Sunil Girls' High School 87-63 to win the women's high school final of the 49th National Men's and Women's Basketball Glory Competition held at the Yeonggwang Sportium in Yeonggwang County, Jeollanam-do on the 5th. Sookmyung Girls' High School, which did not participate in the Spring Festival in March, started its first competition with a victory.

At the center of it was Sookmyung Girls' High School's Lee Min-ji. Although her teammate Song Yoon-ha won the MVP award, Lee Min-ji performed well in both offense and defense, scoring the most points between the two teams in the finals with 29 points (five 3-point shots), eight rebounds, four assists, and four steals.

Lee said, "I went to winter training in Busan and Samcheonpo. I took a break due to my ankle injury ahead of the competition, and returned one month before the competition to participate in the team training. I felt a bit tired due to lack of physical strength during the competition," he said.

Lee averaged 24.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2.6 steals during the tournament, and also received the tournament's scoring award. Point guard Lee Min-ji is 177 centimeters tall, and she led her team by playing leisurely despite strong court pressure from her opponents.

"I think the ability to play leisurely is also an advantage," said Lee Min-ji, who is confident in dribbling, shooting and passing. "I'm quiet off the court, but I talk a lot with my teammates on the court and try to be confident."

Lee Min-ji is a promising player who has been invited to the 2023 NBA Basketball Without Borders (BWB) camp. Having started playing basketball at a young age, Lee Min-ji has consistently attracted attention. What is most important is his own efforts, but there are many people who recognized his abilities early on and helped him grow.

Lee Min-ji said, "I first started playing basketball as an after-school activity when I was in the fourth grade of elementary school along with my older brother. Tak Kyung-hee, who was an after-school teacher at the time, recommended elite basketball at Seocho Elementary School. Since then, I learned the basics well from Woo Eun-kyung, the coach of Seocho Elementary School, and won my first championship in the sixth grade. I went to middle school and started playing basketball when I was in the first grade, but I thought I was good at it. I would like to thank the coach and teacher for guiding me well since I was young."
