It's Macau Snooker Masters Time! Wynn Macau Ltd., the famous casino operator, announced that its huge event, Macau Snooker Masters, will be held in December this year. The event will be headlined by Ronnie O'Sullivan, a seven-time winner of the world snooker championship.
World's Best Players:
Held at the Wynn Palace resort in Cotai, the event will start on Dec. 25 and run until Dec. 29. The competition is inviting, and the world's best snooker athletes will try to win fantastic prizes.
The world's top eight players will compete on the strip, with GBP 150.000 or US$189.500 to be eligible, as shown in a press release dedicated to the tournament.
Among them is Ding Jun Hui, one of China's best snooker athletes and the first Asian athlete to make it to one of the best in the world. There is also Hong Kong athlete Marco Fu, who has already won three spots in the competition. Other athletes visiting Macau include Judd Trump, Jack Lisowski, Mark Williams, Kyren Wilson, and Si Jia Hui.
The tournament is one of the plans for the Macau government to hold more sporting events to promote tourism in the city and diversify its economy to avoid relying fully on gambling activities in the region.
Wynn Macau Ltd's local department has joined forces to organize this important competition. Among the organizers are Wynn Resort SA and Macau Billiards Association and Sailing Up Sports. The Sports Bureau, run by the Macau government, also supports the event.

Linda Chen, the president and vice president of Wynn Macao Ltd., commented on the competition, saying that the main mission of the event is to help Macau grow its sports culture. The event will help Macau become an influential market in the sports industry, and add local colors to the international sports world.
She added that the tournament is part of Win Macau Inc's long-term plan to engage Macau in the global sports scene and increase the impact of this important gambling market on the overall sports market.
This event is not included in the official world snooker tour schedule.
Chen added, "The purpose of Snooker Masters is to actively support the government's '1+4' diversification development strategy and contribute to the growth of Macau's sports culture and tourism industry. Moreover, this respected event is also part of our long-term plan to strengthen Macau's influence in the international sports world."
