Golden State Warriors coach Steve Kerr recently had an interview with The Mercury News. Kerr told the story of Dante DiVinchenjo's absence at the meeting.

Divinchenjo, who entered the NBA with the 2017 NBA Rookie Draft, announced his presence by being reborn as a key member of the regular season when the Milwaukee Bucks won. However, he later fell into a slump due to ankle injuries.

He announced his revival at Golden State last season. Divinchenjo played a significant role as an energizer with an average of 9.4 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and three-point shooting success rate of 39.7%. In response, he signed a four-year, $50 million contract with the New York Knicks this summer.

"Dante DiVinchenjo played with high energy and came on the court with a clear purpose," Kerr said. "Divinchenjo's presence last season was a very important factor for our team," he recalled.

Therefore, filling the void of Divinchenjo, who has performed well in many ways, is expected to be one of Golden State's major tasks this season. Kerr emphasized the performance of Brandin Pozimski and Moses Moody.

"We can miss Divinchenjo," Kerr said. But with him out, other players have a chance. Brandin Forgeski or Moses Moody could take this opportunity. We need to find a replacement for Divinchenjo," he said.

Rookie Pozimski caught coach Kerr's attention by announcing a good start with 11 points, six rebounds and four assists in the first preseason game against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Pozimski said, "I looked at the performances of Dante DiVinchenjo and others last season. I put everything together and thought about what my role was. I will do whatever I can to win," he said, expressing his determination.

Moody wore a Golden State uniform through the 2021 NBA Rookie Draft. Last season's performance averaged 4.8 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists. Step-up is needed to fulfill the task of replacing Divinchenjo.

Moody said, "Dante Divinchenjo was an outstanding rebounder. And I played many roles, such as being active, passing, and running."

"I thought about how to find a sense of rhythm during the off-season. I practiced shooting hard, too. I'm looking forward to better performance next season," he added.
