Since 2017, he has coached college players at the helm of Hongik University until recently. He was the runner-up at the Taebaeksan Mountain Range College Football Federation last year, and maintained the lead in five matches without losing in this year's U-League, putting his team among the strongest in college soccer. Coach Park has displayed outstanding capabilities in discovering potential and strengths of players, and Hwang Jae-won, a defender who was coached by Park when he was a student at Hongik University, is currently playing in Daegu.

The Daegu club said, "Coach Park is a veteran leader with 27 years of field experience ranging from high school to professional, and he is a coach who can understand and overcome the current situation facing the club. We expect that it will greatly help us effectively control the young players. We expect that he will lead the team in a stable and good manner during difficult times."

Coach Park said, "It's an honor to take the helm of Daegu. I'm confident that my career in the field is second to none. My goal is to lead the team in a stable situation and rise to a high position, and I will do my best to secure a place in the Final A. I will do my best to meet fans' expectations."

Coach Park will meet with the squad this afternoon (23rd) and make his debut as Daegu coach in the 19th round of the Hana Bank K League against Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors on the 28th (Sunday).
