The new amenities include 26 additional blackjack tables, a new bingo hall that can accommodate more than 600 players, four uniquely themed restaurants, a fancy bar, and lounge area, all of which will provide more than 400 new jobs for the Southern Arizona community.

According to an economic impact study conducted in January 2002 by the Udall Center at the University of Arizona and the Native Nations Institute on the Pascua Yaqui tribe, the tribe is providing an economic impact of more than $100 million annually to the Southern Arizona economy. These impacts include dozens of local merchants and contractors employed in the expansion, food and beverage distributor contracts, community contributions of more than $300,000 annually, and more than 1,500 jobs created to run a casino when the expansion is completed.
"The additional jobs created by the expansion of the Casino Del Sol are important to the community," said Robert Valencia, president of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. "The mission of the Pascua Yaqui Tribe is to provide new employment opportunities that provide higher wages and improve living standards for tribal members and all Southern Arizona people. The new jobs created by the expansion include new positions, executives, blackjack and poker dealers, shift supervisors, and food and beverage positions, all of which will help the tribe achieve this goal."
Designed by Leo Ad Daly, Casino Del Sol will showcase its stunning Tuscan Village motifs complete with street scenes, game squares, and traditional Mediterranean-style decorations highlighted by deep purple, bronze, and sandstone. Casino Del Sol's main feature is its magnificent "Mediterranean sky," a 40,000-square-foot mural hanging from the casino ceiling. The Mediterranean sky peaks at 46 feet above the gaming floor, allowing you to simulate a vibrant sunrise or sunset.

Since signing the Pascua Yaqui Tribe's gaming company by Arizona Governor Janet Napolitano in January, Casino Del Sol has been allowed to expand its gaming operations to include an additional 670 gaming devices and Vegas-style blackjacks. The new machines will be housed in Casino Del Sol, along with a total of 46 blackjack tables. The casino will also provide a bingo hall for many bingo lovers. The hall, which can accommodate more than 600 players, will offer seven games from 10 a.m. every day, and bingo guests will have the luxury of private restrooms and a dedicated deli-style restaurant for players in the bingo area.

Under the leadership of Chef Jesus Lorenzo, four new restaurants will allow casino customers to taste dishes from different parts of the world. Lorenzo is certified as a Master Chef by the American Culinary Federation and is newly joined by The Chaine des Rotisseurs, a world-renowned culinary professional organization. His expertise and culinary excellence have given him the opportunity to cook for three U.S. presidents as well as the Queen of England.
The new restaurants range from fast, packaged food to full-service dining worldwide. They include Velissimo Ristorante, a full-service Tuscany-style restaurant; Tequila Factory, a traditional Mexican village-style restaurant featuring a private restaurant modeled after a greenhouse; Slices, an Italian pizza restaurant that serves players the freshest pizza ingredients on their homemade dough; and Abuelitas Takeria, a taco shop-style restaurant that serves players a variety of authentic Mexican food, including burritos, chimichangas, tacos & enchiladas.
"I have created menus that use the most authentic flavors of Mexico and Italy to entice casino customers with the best flavors each region has to offer," Lorenzo said. "Each restaurant will use the freshest ingredients prepared by our hard-trained culinary staff to serve world-class food to its community members."
