KBO said on the 12th, "The final list of the South Korean national team to participate in the 2023 Asian Professional Baseball Championship (APBC), which will open at Tokyo Dome in Japan on November 16th (Thursday), has been confirmed."
The KBO Power Enhancement Committee, coach Ryu Joong-il, and coaching staff decided to replace all LG and KT players participating in the Korean Series and select players who have been in the best condition among the preliminary entries who have been training together at the Daegu Samsung Lions Park Camp.
Players confirmed to be replaced are LG Jung Woo-young, Moon Bo-kyung and KT Park Young-hyun, who are playing the Korean Series, while Kang Baek-ho cannot join due to injury reasons.
Instead, pitchers Shin Min-hyuk (NC), Cho Byung-hyun (SSG), fielders Na Seung-yeop (Lotte), and Moon Hyun-bin (Hanwha) decided to join the team. This is the result of comprehensively judging the players' physicality, performance, and condition.
The APBC national team will depart for Tokyo on Tuesday, 14th, and will play its first match against Australia on Thursday, 16th.
