Former state representative Sean Everhart will plead in federal court in Indianapolis on November 28, 2023, according to a report by IndyStar. Everhart, who was an official at the General Assembly from 2007 to 2022, is facing charges that he influenced a gaming bill that helped casino operator Spectacular Entertainment win a $350,000 business deal in return.

Continue billing:

As reported, the charges against Everhart continue to link the already-sentenced spectacle to the state legislature. Two other lawmakers have pleaded guilty to corruption charges related to Spectacle's predecessor, New Sentore LLC, sources said.

Claims of influence on casino legislation:

Former Republican Congressman Sean Eberhart was accused by the Indiana Gaming Commission of being involved in the 2019 casino license application for two casinos in downtown Gary and Terre Haute. According to an IndyStar report, officials at the General Assembly passed the necessary legislation at the General Assembly and helped move the casinos to more than two locations in Lake Gary Michigan. Sources say Eberhart also played a key role in lowering the transfer fee for two of Spectacle's casinos from $100 million to $20 million.

Allegations:

According to the source, the operator's predecessor, New Centaur LLC, has a history of misconduct. The company's founder and CEO Rod Ratcliffe sold Centaur to Caesars Entertainment in 2018 and started Spectacular Entertainment. The company said it had already engaged Everhart in its 2019 negotiations with the General Assembly, which affected the law in May 2019. But they also resulted in the current prosecution of Everhart.

Past prosecution:

Other Kentaur-related cases that have reportedly resulted in prosecutions of state representatives include former Senator Brent Waltz and state representative John Keeler. According to reports, these state officials were accused of funneling more than $40,000 from the company into their political campaigns in 2015. According to the source, Ratcliffe has never been charged with any crimes. Waltz and Killer, on the other hand, pleaded guilty and served time for tax fraud that occurred in Kentaur's 2016 tax returns, which were allegedly used as political contributions.

A series of controversial cases:

There's been a series of controversial events, including private jet flights for politicians, lucrative legal contracts for House members, and involving state officials for the company's services. The Indiana State Auditor reportedly found no violations in those activities, but the involvement led to the resignation and retirement of some state officials. 슬롯사이트
