The Asian Games men's soccer team, led by head coach Hwang Sun-hong, led 1-0 by Hong Hyun-suk's first goal in the 18th minute of the first half against China in the "2022 Hangzhou Asian Games Men's Soccer Quarterfinals" held at Huanglong Sports Center Stadium in Hangzhou, China, at 9 p.m. on the 1st.

If South Korea wins, it will face Uzbekistan, which beat Saudi Arabia 2-1 in another quarterfinal, in the semifinals.

South Korea pulled out a 4-2-3-1 formation. Cho Young-wook was at the front line, and Song Min-gyu, Ko Young-joon and Ahn Jae-joon were at the second line. Hong Hyun-seok and Baek Seung-ho coordinated the offense and defense, and Park Kyu-hyun, Lee Han-beom, Park Jin-seop and Hwang Jae-won formed a four-back. Lee Kwang-yeon wore goalkeeper gloves.

Park Jin-seop, who was competing for an aerial ball at the start of the game, fell behind due to a rough physical fight. It was a point where you could see how China played the game. Dai Wei-jun openly tripped Park Jin-seop, but he was not called a foul. The audience also cheered unilaterally for China, chanting "Jayo!"

Ko Young-joon, who received a return pass from Cho Young-wook in the 6th minute of the first half, fired his first shot but crossed the net. In the 7th minute of the first half, Cho Young-wook changed his direction with a header from Hong Hyun-seok, but it slightly missed the post.

South Korea continued to unilaterally attack. In the 11th minute of the first half, Hong Hyun-seok's right-footed shot after dribbling in the box was caught by the goalkeeper. China, which was pushed back in the midfield battle, was unable to cross the half-line.

In the 15th minute of the first half, Song Min-gyu crossed through the left side. Ko Young-joon's shot was blocked by the goalkeeper after the confusion. In the 17th minute of the first half, Ko Young-joon fell in the box, but the game proceeded as it was.

Hwang Jae-won got a free kick opportunity in front of the box in the 18th minute of the first half. Hong Hyun-seok's left-footed ball passed the goalkeeper and led to the first goal. South Korea took a 1-0 lead.
