Jamsil Big Boy' Lee Jae-won (24) and 'fastball sidearm rookie' Park Myung-geun (19), who had been in trouble with their teammates throughout this season, were eliminated from the Korean Series entry. Still, they will accompany the team throughout the Korean Series and be with their teammates. This is due to the consideration of LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop, the coaching staff, and the club.

The LG Twins and KT Wiz will play Game 1 of the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO postseason Korean Series (KS, best-of-seven series) at 6:30 p.m. on the 7th at Jamsil Baseball Stadium in Seoul. The LG starter is Casey Kelly. KT starter Ko Young-pyo.

On the 6th, a day before the day of the showdown, KBO (Korea Baseball Organization) announced the entry to play in the Korean Series.

LG has set up the Korean Series entry with 14 pitchers and 16 fielders. Starting pitchers such as Choi Won-tae, Lim Chan-kyu and Kim Yoon-sik, as well as Casey Kelly, a foreign ace and the team's first starter, were listed. Choi Dong-hwan, Son Joo-young and Lee Woo-chan, as well as bullpen resources of Lee Jung-yong, Jung Woo-young, Ham Deok-ju, Yoo Young-chan, Baek Seung-hyun, Kim Jin-sung and Ko Woo-seok, have joined the Korean Series entry.

There are three catchers. Key catcher Park Dong-won and "veteran catcher" Heo Do-hwan were on standby as backup, while "high school graduate rookie" Kim Bum-seok also took the opportunity to join the Korean Series entry. "Captain" Oh Ji-hwan, Kim Min-sung, Moon Bo-kyung, Shin Min-jae, and Jeong Ju-hyun were listed as infielders, while outfielders included Kim Hyun-soo, Hong Chang-ki, Park Hae-min, Austin, and Moon Sung-joo, as well as "large runner agent" Choi Seung-min and "large defense agent" Ahn Ik-hoon in the Korean Series entry.

However, Lee Jae-won, a "big gun" who had high expectations during this season, and Park Myung-geun, who did his best at the beginning of the season at a time when the existing victory group was shaking, were excluded from the Korean Series entry.

Lee Jae-won is a highly anticipated hitter with manager Yeom Kyung-yeop's appointment this season. Lee Jae-won, a graduate of Cheongju Seokgyo Elementary School, Seoul Gyeongwon Middle School, and Seoul High School, joined LG in 2020 after receiving the LG Twins' nomination with the 17th overall pick in the second round of the 2018 Rookie Draft. The down payment is 100 million won. At the inauguration ceremony, LG manager Yeom Kyung-yeop said of Lee Jae-won, "He is a player who will explode greatly if he explodes," adding, "His potential is on the verge of bursting in many ways, including physical conditions and hitting mechanisms. "If we train through various data, I think it will grow in an early time," he said, expressing expectations.

In particular, Lee Jae-won even postponed his enlistment for one goal of winning the team this season. However, as he was injured from the beginning of the season, he had a hard time controlling his condition. In the end, Lee Jae-won ended this season with a batting average of 0.214 (24 hits in 112 at-bats), four home runs, 18 RBIs, 12 walks, 40 strikeouts, 0.366, an on-base percentage of 0.295 and an OPS (on-base plus slugging percentage) of 0.661. Although he did not play as many games as expected, he still showed off his power by showing the highest batting speed in the major leagues during the season.

In the bullpen, Park Myung-geun was not included in the Korean Series entry. Park Myung-geun, who graduated from Sutaek Elementary School (Guri Little), Guri Inchang Middle School, and Raon High School, joined the LG Twins with the 27th overall pick in the third round in the 2023 Rookie Draft. Park Myung-geun pitched in 57 games in relief this season, marking four wins, three losses, five saves, and nine holds with a 5.09 ERA.

Above all, Park Myung-geun took the center of the bullpen with another "new" Pil Seung-jo, leading to Ham Deok-ju, Yoo Young-chan and Baek Seung-hyun, with Lee Jung-yong, Jung Woo-young and Ko Woo-seok, who were the existing Pil Seung-jo at the beginning of the season, shaking. In the first half, he had an outstanding performance of four wins, no losses, five saves, and a 3.25 ERA in 36 games. However, in August, it began to show little difficulty. In the second half, he slowed down with three losses and four-hold ERA of 9.39 without winning 21 games. Since it was the first full-time season for a high school graduate rookie, ball power was inevitably reduced. In the end, Park Myung-geun was unfortunately not included in the entry ahead of the Korean Series.

Still, Lee Jae-won and Park Myung-geun will accompany the team throughout the Korean Series and be with the team. It was possible because of the consideration of manager Yeom Kyung-yeop, the coaching staff, and the LG club. Lee Jae-won, who postponed his enlistment to win the team. And Park Myung-geun, who bravely threw his ball when the bullpen was in a difficult situation as a rookie at the beginning of the season. The club never forgets their hard work. According to club officials, if LG wins the Korean Series, they plan to reward them equally.
