Macau welcomed nearly half a million tourists during China's Spring Festival Week, which starts , three times as many as the same period last year. The sharp growth of these numbers began on after the city reopened and took a huge step back to normal pre-pandemic rhythms.

More than triple the number of visitors:

The city received a total of 451,047 visitors during the golden holiday of Chinese New Year, up 297 percent from a year earlier. It booked an average of 64,435 tourists a day over seven days, while 90,391 tourists visited in the middle of the week, up 311.5% year-over-year.

Mainland China and Hong Kong visitors:

Industry experts expect Macau to attract an average of 30,000 to 40,000 tourists every day, as it continues to return to pre-pandemic levels. Visitor record, recorded at 1.2 million visitors, appears to be within reach of the area again after three years of lockdown. This year, a huge number of tourists came from mainland China, but Hong Kong also accounted for a surprising 2,601% annual increase to 164,672, or 36.5% of all visits.

According to the Asia Gaming Brief, the Macau Tourism Board said the number of visitors during the festival "beyond expectations." The Macau Tourism Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the number of Hong Kong visitors during the festival week and the success of the programs offered to them, such as free round-trip tickets for at least one night's stay in Macau.

High level of residence:

During the festival, the average hotel guest increased by 85.7%, up 22.4 percentage points each year, to 92.1%, the highest level of stay experienced , the peak of tourist arrivals in the region, with accommodation rates rising nearly 50%, as expected, reaching MOP1,575 ($195.3) over the peak period.

Still understaffed:

Resorts still face staffing shortages due to COVID-19 surge in December. Las Vegas Sands Corporation, the parent company of Macau casino resort operator Sands China, it has not operated 2,200 rooms at its Londoner Macao resort in the Kotai district because it is "understaffed compared to its full operational capacity," but all casino operators have continued to grow since it reopened . 슬롯게임
