SJM Holdings Limited has reportedly confirmed that Chairman Stanley Ho Heung-sung has officially retired from his position as chairman, replacing his 53-year-old daughter Daisy Ho Chiu-feng (pictured).

The succession plan, first announced in April, became official after the latest annual general meeting of SJM Holdings Limited on Tuesday, after which the 96-year-old businessman was named honorary chairman of the Hong Kong-listed casino company he helped found in the early 1960s.

"Dr. Ho has no disagreement with the board of directors and confirmed that there is no need to attract the attention of the company's shareholders regarding retirement," read Tuesday's filing (pdf) from SJM Holdings Limited, which is responsible for about 19 Macau casinos, including the iconic Casino Grand Lisboa and the new Emperor's. "The Board sincerely appreciates Dr. Ho's valuable contribution to building a solid foundation for the company's continued growth in the future."

Daisy Ho Chiu Fung was reportedly appointed executive director of the company a year ago, which will remain in place until the end of 2010 after serving as director of local MGM Grand Paradise Limited at rival casino operator MGM China Holdings Limited.

Timothy Faulktsunting, 72, was named co-chairman along with Angela Leung-on-K, wife of Stanley Ho Heung-sung, 57, and both will remain executive directors.

SJM explained that shareholders approved the additional appointment of 67-year-old Executive Director and CEO of SOSHPI as vice chairman, while appointing 64-year-old Executive Director Lee Na-chan as executive director.
