Since 1989, all casino licenses have been under the authority of the nonprofit Guatemalan Pediatrics Foundation. Eventually, four more resort complexes are planned on Lake Atylan, Puerto Barrios, and Panajachel.

According to Alekson's spokesperson, land acquisitions for the six projects are already in progress. Another affiliate of Alekson will be responsible for the construction and construction management aspects of the casino resort. There is no information on the size of the project yet, as it is still in the planning stage and is expected to be completed over the next 10 years.
