The second game of the doubleheader between KT and Hanwha was held at Hanwha Life Eagles Park in Daejeon on the 17th. In the bottom of the fifth inning, when KT was leading 3-1, rain and wind began to hit the leadoff hitter Moon Hyun-bin's at-bat.

Soon a heavy rain hit the ground. After KT starter Wes Benjamin threw the seventh ball against Moon Hyun-bin, the referees declared a suspension, and players from both teams entered the dugout. The spectators wore umbrellas or gathered under the roof of the stands to escape the rain.

A considerable amount of rain fell, and the ground was quickly wet before a large tarpaulin was laid. Even after the rain stopped, the ground condition was so bad that it seemed difficult to play a normal game. The stadium management team expressed its intention that it was difficult to proceed with the game.

However, the referee did not decide to cancel it. After waiting for the rain to stop, stadium management personnel were dispatched to start maintaining the ground. The maintenance took longer as the infield became completely muddy. After removing the mud, new soil was laid to harden the infield.

The game, which was suspended at 6:33 p.m., was not declared as a no-game after three hours following an hour and two hours. As the game resumed only at 9:57 p.m., the record of suspension was written for up to three hours and 24 minutes (204 minutes).

It is the longest record in KBO league history. The previous record was 1 hour and 56 minutes, with two matches against Daejeon Samsung-Bingre on August 15, 1987, and Daejeon KT-Hanwha on July 23 last year. In the meantime, the suspension of the game has never exceeded two hours, but the KT-Hanwha match has exceeded three hours.

In the early days of the game's suspension, the crowd, who enjoyed dancing to the songs ringing in the stadium, also began to leave one by one when the game did not resume until late.

It was difficult for the judges to declare a no-game prematurely. This is largely due to the fact that the schedule has been pushed back due to the cancellation of more rain than ever. If the no-game is declared as it is, it will be reorganized into a later schedule. According to the principle of not organizing a doubleheader for two consecutive days, the game on Monday, the 18th, could not be played as a doubleheader.

The game was also ambiguous. With KT leading 3-1, the home team Hanwha's attack began in the bottom of the fifth inning. Conditions for the rainfall cold game were not established, and it was regrettable that both KT and Hanwha became no games. However, as the suspension time was too long, the fatigue of the players who played the first game of the doubleheader at 2 p.m. increased. All the spectators had to wait endlessly to take out the camp.

KT starter Benjamin, who took the mound in the fifth inning with a 3-1 lead by blocking one run until the fourth inning, missed the victory as the waiting time was too long. Benjamin, who took the mound after the game resumed, threw two Arirang balls to Moon Hyun-bin and allowed a walk before being replaced by Son Dong-hyun.

According to Article 5(10) of the Baseball Rules, if a pitcher in a game crosses the foul line at the beginning of the inning, the pitcher must pitch until the first batter is out or goes to first base. Just before the rain stopped, Benjamin crossed the foul line and took the mound, and was in the middle of a seven-ball match with Moon Hyun-bin. In the end, he went down the mound only after completing the pitch to Moon Hyun-bin's at-bat after resuming. To protect the injury, he threw two Arirang balls lightly and went down. It was measured with 77km curves and 97km fastballs, respectively. 토토
