Lotte lost 0-3 to the Doosan Bears in an exhibition game of the 2023 KBO League at Sajik Stadium in Busan on the 11th. The team won two consecutive games against the SSG Landers, but the batting lineup remained silent against the Doosan mound, which featured two foreign pitchers in a row.

The match drew attention from Kim Tae-hyung, manager of the Lotte Giants, who took the helm last year. Kim joined the Doosan Bears ahead of the 2015 season, and led the team to advance to the Korean Series for seven consecutive seasons to form the dynasty. He was once called the "Tumok Bear."

Coach Kim Tae-hyung played only for the Bears when he was a player. Although it is an exhibition game, it is true that he is now drawing attention against Doosan as the head coach of the Giant Corps.

Lotte won 6-1 and 13-5 against SSG on the 9th and 10th, respectively. New hitters such as Yoon Dong-hee and Na Seung-yeop played an active role in the first game, and Jeon Joon-woo and Jung Hoon in the second game led the attack with three-run home runs and a grand slam.

In the game against Doosan on Wednesday last week, the team had only five sporadic hits. Na Seung-yeop kept his pride by recording multiple hits (two hits), but failed to show any focus. Doosan left Raul Alcantara and Brandon Waddell to lead the team in three and two thirds of innings and four innings, respectively. Lotte's batters garnered not a few hits (five) against Alcantara, but failed to score a goal.

On the other hand, new foreign pitcher Aaron Wilkerson allowed four hits (one homer) and two runs in four innings. He allowed a double to first hitter Kim Jae-hwan in the top of the second inning, an infield hit to Kang Seung-ho after one out, and a sacrifice fly to follow-up Heo Kyung-min, and allowed a left-handed line drive home run to Park Joon-young in the top of the third inning.

After taking Wilkerson off the mound, manager Kim Tae-hyung checked the bullpen pitchers' conditions. Nine players started from Park Jin-hyung in the fifth inning and blocked five innings.

The most outstanding pitcher was rookie Jeon Mi-ri. While Koo Seung-min was on the mound in the top of the ninth inning after being hit by a batter's pitch, he managed to block the first inning without allowing a run. He was on the verge of losing a point after getting an infield hit by Lee Yoo-chan, who he faced with no outs and a first base, but struck out his follow-up Kim Dae-han with a curveball. He struck out his follow-up batters Jang Seung-hyun and Kim Jae-hwan in succession even when he was on the verge of loading the bases after hitting a heavy hit in the match against Cho. Jang garnered two strikes with two sliders and induced him to swing and miss with a 126km/h curve. Kim Jae-hwan, who produced a long hit (double), produced two four-seam fastballs (straight balls) to give him an advantageous ball count (0 ball-2 strikes) and induced him to swing and miss with a curveball again.

Coach Kim Tae-hyung lost his first official match against his former team, but he was able to check to form a must-win group. Jeon Mir, who watched in the spring camp, also confirmed that he overpowered Kim Jae-hwan, the former home run king, with rapid control. He lost, but there was a harvest.
