Pohang announced on the 15th that it appointed Park Tae-ha, a former professional "one club man," for the first time in the club's history, and that the contract period was two years. <Online exclusive report on December 11>

Since his debut as a pro at Pohang in 1991, Park has served as an "original one-club man" since 2001. In the meantime, Pohang has won one K-League title (1992), one FA Cup title (1996), and two AFC Champions League titles (1996-19997, 1997-1998). Park, who had always been Pohang's main player in the K-League, recorded a total of 46 goals and 37 assists in 261 matches during nine seasons excluding his mandatory military service. From 1998 to 2000, he dedicated himself to his team as a captain.

Park started his career as a coach at Pohang in 2005 after his retirement. In 2007, he led Pohang to the K-League title with Farias. From the following year to 2011, he served as a coach and assistant coach for the Korean national team. In 2012, he helped the team win the K-League title as the head coach of FC Seoul.

Park, who took charge of Yanbian in 2015 in China's A-League (second division), won the A-League championship and promoted the team to the Super League (first division). Park then led Yanbian until 2018 and the Chinese women's B team until 2019, playing in the Chinese soccer community.

Since 2020, he has been appointed as the technical chairman of the Korea Professional Football Federation and has been studying the latest trends in soccer tactics at the Technical Research Group (TSG) of the K League Technical Committee.

"Pohang is a meaningful place for me. I've never forgotten about Pohang since I joined the club," Park said. "I'm honored and glad to be appointed as a coach. I'll do my best to prepare for Pohang's soccer."
